Guest Sundancefisher Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 interesting video, last few years they have been caughed in kitimat b.c. calamrie rings the size of truck tires.....could soon become a problem ! We have been seeing them along the west coast of Canada during warm water el nino years. They grow to adult size in 1 year. Crazy growth Quote
jack Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Japanese(wife's family) fishing boats out of Vancouver bring back loads of them. Cut the tentacles into 1' chunks, slice open, remove the sinew vein, pound it with a mallet, boil in water/soy sauce with a dash of vinegar.............. yummy ! j Quote
coolwaters Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 we were telling tourist up in kitimat that we cooked and ate a couple we had caught, they thought we were nuts.. Quote
admin Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I'm sure they would be good to eat. I'd like to try it. I'd hate to meet one in open water. I think there was an article on the net somewhere of dudes catching these (or other squid) on the fly. Quote
