  1. Thought I'd weigh in.

    62(1) A passenger car shall be equipped with a front and rear

    bumper.

    (2) No person shall install or alter a bumper on a passenger car

    unless the design of the bumper is equivalent to, and the bumper is

    mounted in substantially the same manner as, the bumper installed

    by the manufacturer of the passenger car.

    RSA 1980 cH-7 s62

    Height of bumpers

    63(1) No person shall alter a passenger car so that the main

    structural component of a bumper is more than 50 centimetres or

    less than 40 centimetres above ground level when the passenger car

    is unloaded.

    (o) "passenger car" means a motor vehicle that has a seating

    capacity of 10 or less, but does not include an off-highway

    vehicle as defined in the Off-highway Vehicle Act, a truck,

    a multi-purpose passenger vehicle, a chassis cab, a moped

    or a motor cycle;

    (w) "truck" means a vehicle designed primarily for the

    transportation of property or equipment, but does not

    include a chassis-cab, crawler mounted vehicle, trailer,

    machinery or equipment used in the construction or

    maintenance of highways or an off-highway vehicle as

    defined in the Off-highway Vehicle Act;

    In reading the above, it appears there are bumper height restrictions for passenger cars By definition it appears pick-up trucks (designed primarily for transportation of property or equipment IMO) are not passenger cars and seem not to have a bumper height restriction.

    But, I may be reading this incorrectly.

  2. gout is when you eat too much meat, drink too much booze etc. The ureic acid crystalizes because your kidneys can't get it out fast enough and there's not enough water in the body. So, the body sticks these crystals in places far away from the kidneys until body chemistry returns to normal and the kidneys can get the acid out.

    Drink about 4l of water a day for a few days, get the drugs to break up the crystals and mind your eating habits and you'll be good to go in a couple days. Once it's gone, keep watching what you eat and drink or it'll be back. Gout is like an arthritis. Once you get it, you're at risk for flare ups if you're not careful.

    Sorry for your luck about the toe.

  3. . In the 3 days that Ive changed my desk/monitor/chair arrangements I've actually felt a lot better waking up in the morning. I got a new desk 6 months ago with a keyboard tray that was too low and tried to make it work for me but I think it ended up %^$@*ing up my back as it put strain on my muscles all day long and then after sleeping for several hours, my back was stiff as a board. No more keyboard tray, the keyboard will remain on top of the desk for now...

    Get an ergonomics assessment of your work space. Many larger employers offer this through HR or their wellness program. A properly set up work space should feel good.

  4. Ignorance is not an excuse. He does not have a point. Just cause guns and bows are sold within the city limits doesn't mean you can hunt there. They are taking part in a regulated activity and have a responsibility to know and abide by the rules. The onus is on the user. A car dealership does not require you to take a driving test prior to selling you a car.

    I agree. It's up to the individual to know and abide by the rules.

    The regs booklet is free when we buy or license each spring, and sit's on the counter at most retailers. Not picking one up is a choice, not reading it is a choice, not following the regs is also a choice. Chosing not to do something then claiming ingorance when the consequences of that decision lands on you isn't ignorance, it's a case of "serve's you right".

  5. Chiro typically treats the symptoms, not the cause. An adjustment puts things back in place but doesn't do much to address why things are out. A combination of physio/chiro/massage and acupuncture work together to treat the cause and symptoms. Acupuncture is great IF you find someone that you feel works for you. Same goes with all the others.

    I've found a massage therapist in NW Calgary that knows her stuff. She'll tell you what she finds and gives her recommendations on treatment (refers you to others if she feels she's not a good option for your problems) and she outlines her treatment plan for you.
