[Custom Rod Building]

I have been looking at building a custom 5wt rod for the last few months but wanted to get some advice from some knowledgeable and experienced builders first. I have never done this before and I am wondering how difficult it really is? is there any specific websites or books that would be helpful to reference? Any and all advice is helpful! PS I do tie flies if that warrants any helpful 'experience' to rod building
