SD,
this is a nice net. If I had lost it, I would hope that someone would get it back to me.

If you lost your net fishing the bow today, I may have it. DM me with details...

I didn't need to see the study to believe it.

Westjet will have the new 787s flying out of London in early 2019. These are the most comfortable planes I have flown on. JAL 747s were a close second as the upper deck was economy, but the row #s led people to believe that it was the back of the plane and was usually only half full and very quiet.

Take your radios, call your kms and hope that the heavies coming your way do the same...

I would like to thank everyone for their input so far. I have looked at a couple of glass rods and fear that I would have to alter my casting stroke too much because I currently use a fast rod. Will have to keep looking...

Hi all,
I am looking for recommendations for a 4 weight fly rod that will be primarily used for casting dry flies on mountain streams and spring creeks.
Also, pros and cons of 9 foot rod vs something shorter. Currently, I fish with a Hardy Zenith 9 foot 6 weight.
Thanks in advance.

I had a bunch of drunk and disorderlies tied at bow river troutfitters by one of the young fellas there. They were very well done. Prices were good too.

I thought most people had 6 weights...

I think most will agree with that statement. However, the cumulative effect of man compounds stresses that the environment experiences.
Just an aside FYI; Never forget the our westslope cutthroat evolved since the last ice event to periods of drought that lasted many decades. The real problem nowadays is the fragmented populations.

BC is well prepared to head to the backcountry. I bet he has a snorkel and mask in his gear bag...

Just an update....the gentleman had 3 rainbows on him and a bucket of minnows.
It would be nice if salesman reminded their customers about bait bans on the Bow...

Some people just don't care. Please don't be part of that group.

Post signs that read 'No Fishing From Island' on the river side. Ends all discussion on interpretation...

Has anyone had success swinging streamers with a riffle hitch on the Bow?
-
Is that a bull trout or a bull shark?!? Nice fish!
-
Could have also been a laker if you're unsure of your id skills
At first I thought it may have been a Brookie as the colouring was wrong for a laker. Just checked online and we have a winner:

How common are bull trout in the Bow? Only asking as I believe I caught one yesterday in the city section. Unfortunately, it wasn't a monster- only 14 inches...

I agree with Dan about checking your tippet if is breaking and isn't knot failure. I lost a few average fish over the period of a week. Changed tippet and the break-offs stopped.
-
Thanks Troutlover- unfortunately, for some, etiquette only matters when someone else is breaking from it and that's in all walks of life.

Should have tried to swap it for a new rod

Seriously dirty through downtown with most gravel bars almost completely submerged...

I remember reading an article where the writer was fly fishing in the USA, Montana I believe. He was at the local fly shop and asked them if the had any studs/ cleats for his boots. The shop keeper pulled out a jar of motocross tire studs for ridin on ice. The writer stated that they were quite effective. Has any one tried this?
