  1. I'm running a TFo TiCr in an 8wt and love it! It will chuck big streamers in gale winds as I found out on the bow a couple weeks back. It also won't break the bank. The action is very fast which I like but I know it's not for everyone.

    Cheers

  2. Hey guys,

So I have been out of town for the better part of three weeks now and I am suppose to come home next week and I haven't seen flowing water or temperature above -20 in a while and im starting to go a little crazy...

What I am wondering is how the bow has been fishing?? What is the clarity like? is it high? Any dry fly action as of yet?

Basically do I have anything to look forward too?? haha

This is what ive been doing for the last couple weeks... cold, white and lots of fun but time to come home ! !

  3. Hey,

Seems like you were using the right stuff there last night. I have only been skunked twice this year and i fished all of february, march and april all on nymphs. Chironomids in the small size and hares ears have done it for me using SWJ wire or big stone nymph to get down fast. As for rises, I have come across a few BWO hatches even mid day but didnt hook anything on dries yet...ill wait for the caddis to come out.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

  4. Yes that's right ! I have almost been living in Calgary for a year and I just caught my first Brown Trout yesterday ! SO here is the story...I am from eastern Canada where trout rivers are not very aboundant...more used to Bass fishing or pike ....Anyway, a year ago when i moved here the Bow was quite itimidating, fast flowing and had no idea where fish would be...So needless to say that last summer, i caught three rainbows....

Not gonna lie, I thought flyfishing was gonna be over for me before it started....then came winter blues.... I started tying and really doing my homework. Fished the end of January and all of march and was quite succesful, LOTS of rainbows and whites but still ..... no ....brown....

My luck finally switched last monday, I hooked into a pig of a brown that put on a pretty good aerial show before running like ive never seen before and headed straight for a run .... instead of running after it, I froze and it broke off...I shed a tear...

Then it wasnt until yesterday that my dreams finally came true ! I caught my first brown, not very big but what a beautiful fish !!

I can offically say that im hooked for life !

    Thanks for reading
