With not knowing alot, from what I can see the reel foot has been altered, and 4 of the screws look like they may have been changed or replaced. Other than that the engraving of initials are "in a collectors eye" never fun too see but for the fishing type who cares..... I used to own a reel of the same size but for the life of me cannot recall where it was made, there was two factories, one being more sought after than the other. At any rate all things being said, if it's a good price for the lot....who knows. just my two cents worth, maybe nothing more.

As for now, I'm fishing a 12'6" 5/6 with a Skagit 400 grain, and I prefer adding the 5' cheater fom the old 7/8/9 package works well for me..... I do like the Scandi lines as BBB knows. As for what works best for you, find some boys that'll meet you and try what feels better. My .02 worth. T

Greg, all of the above for lines, cast many sage rods, scotts, loomis, bruce & walkers but all i own at the moment is the 7136-4 with a shorter tip for skagit lines. but all in all will pick up one of the zaxis 11' this year. cheers lff

I would agree that a spey forum is needed in calgary, and even better not a seperate one. I used to fish alot in bc with the big sticks and think they deserve a place here as well, be more than happy to cast with anyone. thanks, lff
