Get the STi. You won't regret it.
I owned a Forester before my STi. I found the rear passenger space to small to take 4 men any long distance (ie skiing/fishing trips). The outback is wider and longer but not as tall. I find the capacity is more useful.
Don't buy winter tires and rims from the dealership. Get them on tirerack, or locally.
I change my tire myself (winters to summers). And tell the dealership whenever I get the car service not to rotate my tires saves me about half the price on a regular service.
Overall subarus are awesome cars, great value, and they last a long time. I highly recommend them.

The rio grand is basically the same line as the gold but with 0.5 extra line weight to help casting.
I switch from the gold to the rio perception last year (when i broke a line), and prefer that over both the gold and grand.
All rio lines are great choices. Comes down to personal preference.

This is my favorite box for dries. I find the silted foam helps with the hackle issue, and it has enought height for posts for medium sized ones.
Would be interested to see others preferred dry boxes.

I have a pair of Oakley gray polarized lens in both prescriptions and normal. Given how expensive they are I generally use contacts and the normal glasses on full day outing, or if I am going to be fishing till after sun down. And then the prescriptions if it's just a couple hours on the water. I'd also hate to donate them to the river given how expense the prescriptions are. I find the gray lenses to be a great all round color for both very bright and clouded days.

I can't get enough foam in my boxes.
Question about the drake. Are u using a foam cutter for those? Or just cutting thin strips? I want to tie some of those up this winter.
Thanks in advance.

Just heard that due to the train on the bonnieville train bridge that the waste water plant is currently evacuated and that they are dumping waste water right into the river. Any one out saving fish stay safe. Hopefully they fix this very quickly.
I am heading back to the disaster zone to help friends and family. Please volunteer if u can. Can't tell u how appreciative those Ed are.

I have been using this method for about the last year. Works great!

I have a pair of the Simms g3 guide boots with vibram soles and hard bite cleats to help with wear. Great boots, but I have come to the conclusion that I need to replace the sole every year. U can ship them back to Simms to have them put on new sole for 80 bones I think. However the last time I sent them back the warranted me a new pair. In my experience Simms have amazing customer service when it comes to warranty.

The last time I was on the banks of the river there were a few Mosquitos buzzing around. Foam beetles are always a good choice too.

http://www.reelflies.ca/fly_box_medium_dou...dium-double.htm or the larger one if u are using streamers. These are the best boxes that I have ever used.
Flies are great here too, and about 1/4 the price of the local shops.
