  1. Wow , are you all ever " So very Lucky!" !! Awesome experience , yet Dood ... being that close to a Mama..... she was testing you all , no doubt... possibly setting a boundary and or setting anyone up for a bad day .

Wow , congratulations for the experience , really !! To go along with what you mentioned.. " I Personally would never do that again!!!"

And I really don't care to be a nay sayer man , but Wow !!

" Not a smart idea guys!"

Congratulations on the sweet photos , But I am sure glad that it went well .

On the other hand , it also teaches the cubs not to be afraid of man , if Mama gets so close .... Also ,the beginnings of an unfortunate accident may be in the future for them ... as well as a person ... meaning if they do what bears do , well .... we know what happens to them....... Anyhow Sir ... I am very happy that nothing happened.

    Sweet Pics !!

Come on guy's, please be careful !!

This reminds me of one of my posts after I'm knee deep in the sauce...

Cool bears bro! Just a blackie though, you can take her!

  2. In all seriousness, run-off is one of the main reasons bio's are worried about brook trout. They are pre-adapted to our climate and weather patterns. In the spring, the rainbows spawn and run-off happens about the same time. A crapload of the eggs get killed off by the increasing silt in the water. In the fall however, there is no run off and this is when the brookies spawn. Turns out that a much larger proportion of brook trout eggs survive. In the end, the more brook trout there are, the more competition for food.......

  3. Hi EMT, it is really easy to do, as Dutchie said. You will expect to pay the tax on the items. If the boat and trailer are manufactured in North America, you will not pay duty...but if manufactured elsewhere, expect to pay duty.

If it is a brand new rig, I don't believe you will need to have the inspection done in order to register it, but I could be wrong.

Even on a 6000-8000 dollar rig, the savings can be up to $1000 even accounting for the cost of your trip. There are some smokin' deals to be had on craigslist anywhere in the northwest along the coast, tons of boats out there.

    Good luck

I fish down in WA maybe once a year, so became a member of their forum as well. Interesting what some people have to say and how many similarities there are......

Just for interest sake - no intention to resume beating the dead horse.

  5. I'm looking for some hooks like the one in the picture. All of the ones I have found so far are up-eyes for salmon flies, but I'm looking specifically for down-eyes. Anyone know where I can find some?? Hopefully the picture shows up...

    Thanks

  6. I've been told by more than one that an effective pattern for Maligne Lake is a double shrimp. Apparently they sell it at the local Jasper tackle shops. I can't find a picture or any refference to it online. Does anybody know anything about it? Fished it? Have one? I have a feeling it's in the same class as a Doc Spratley / damsel nymph / dragon nymph / hegramite, but I would really like to see one.

  7. Beautiful pictures.I thought that maybe the bear didn't have a collar on it ,but sadly it did. If by chance you ever see one without a collar that is a very elusive & rare bear. thanks

OH NO!! Have the Hippies gotten to you too??? Or were you just being sarcastic?
