  1. Actually the DT line could be your problem ! have you a WF line you could try ? Sounds like you have a Fast action rod maybe step up to a 7 wt line see if that helps . A Buddy of mine had the same problem and he had the 6 WT like you so I put on my 8 WT FORWARD line he could Not believe the difference that made ! Try it ! Tight lines !

  2. After epoxy and fibre-glass the hull's should stand-up to anything the Bow has and still be lite enough to throw in the back of a pick-up . I also thought of foam but the spray type . And yes I have a Life-jacket Both good points guy's ! Thanks for your input !

  3. i have to throw in with trailhead... also the humble fisherman - jay always has good stuff going on.

sometimes i catch the lady who travels to all the really cool places, just cant remember the name of the show.

I could see you doing that Ladystrange ,the show is Whata Catch on Global Saturday morning 7 AM . Kathryn has a great web-site also just Google the name of the show . Tight lines girl !

  4. Hey Trout try strapping your flyrod to a mountain bike pack a lunch and head down to 17th ave. boat launch . From there follow the path south you can go all the way to Southland . You'll find many spots you can call your Own ! Try it tomorrow its supposed to be a nice day !! Tight Lines !

  5. Does anyone have advice for doing a night float. Is it crazy dangerous? I was thinking maybe from Glenmore to Policeman's with the last couple hours in the dark. Would a full moon give enough light?

If I could still do it I'd be on the river every Full Moon . Word of caution if you want to fish anchor or pull over to shore . At night you don't have the reaction time to avoid sweepers and rocks . I used to take my 16 ft canoe by myself better if you can go with a buddy . You'll find just drifting

the river at night very relaxing without another soul in sight I did ./Clyde

  6. For what its worth my daughter got me a 5# Martin two piece for Christmas one year . I picked up a repackaged line at C.Tire the box was marked 5# when I got it home I was surprised to find a Cortland 8# weight forward . Double hauled that mother no problem with the 5# rod . The soft action rod may have something to do with it too . /Clyde.

  7. I finally get to comment on a topic that I can Really Relate to . I C & R fish the Bow since moving to Calgary in 80 . I was out one windy day fishing a point and hooking fish on almost every cast . There was only one other fly-fisher downstream from me and he wasn't hooking any fish so I waved for him to try my spot Good Thing I did . As I was changing my fly a gust of wind came up and pulled the #14 hook out of my hand and neatly planted its self in my lower lip . Needless to say I was somewhat embarrassed to ask for help but this young fellow had all the gear Hemostat's Too ! hanging from his vest . You should have seen the look on his face as he gripped the fly to Release Me . I'm not sure how fish feel but I felt the sting of being hooked for a week. I won't get into the time I hooked the corner of my eye-lid and had to go to the emergency . Have Fun this weekend on the water and watch out for those wind gusts .

  8. Any ideas?

I'm getting kinda tired of tying the same ol, same ol day in and day out, but i do, because the flys work, day in and day out...

any new sites that im missing out on, or anything i should be looking into to step my tying up, or new flies that work?

I search fly fishing sites and came across Graham Olsen . Just Google that name am sure you will be impressed . Tight lines!
