  1. I got a real good one about 6 years ago below police , maybe 7-8 lbs . Super fat and ate a purple chronie. A nice guy came from across river in my bros old boat and took a pic for me.

Super happy with that one, a real surprise for me.

That was a great fish eagleflyfisher. I took the picture for you.

  2. Anyone fish this stick? I noticed the 5wt and 6wt have some very good reviews. Curious how the 2wt stacks up. Thinking it would be a fun cutthroat stick and central ab brown trout dry fly rod.

I have this rod and like it quite a bit. Price wise, it is an amazing entry level trout dry fly rod. I use it on Alberta mountain streams (on no wind days) and for late season dry fly on the Bow. I actually sold some of my higher end rods as I liked fishing the CT.

  3. How many brown redds are below Policeman's? Seems to me that a closure from Bearspaw to Policeman's would be sufficient to protect spawners. Anyone have access to fall redd counts?

My thoughts exactly. Perhaps it is more difficult to create a new identified boundary hence the overall closure to Carseland?

I respect the closure as it will definetly recoop the recently lost brown trout population. It is however unfortunate as October was one of my favorite times to fish the river. The fish have reached maximum mass and the river has reduced pressure at that time. Most outdoorsmen are steelheading and hunting.

  4. :opps: Now I know why some flippers come with ankle straps!!!!! Lost one yesterday, so finished up in circles!! If anyone has had a similar experience and wants to sell a single flipper, am in the market. Mine is a lower end (Caddis - I believe) with laces rather than a strap. 16"(long) x 9" (widest) and fits over a wading boot. Would like to replace with one that is similar.

If none out there, I may be back looking for advice re a new purchase. Thanks!

    Hi Jerry,

I have one hanging in my garage(found it on the river). Not sure of the model, PM me to discuss, you can have it for free.

  5. All,

I helped a gentlemen out on the Bow River Sunday morning. He overnight camped at the first corner downstream of the Highwood Confluence. The cold front from Saturday night blew his 18 foot aluminum canoe into the river and it was not located. I checked all side channels and back eddies as I gave him a lift to MacKinnon Flats(did not check below).

Contact me directly if you have seen the canoe downstream of the Highwood.

    Regards,

    Dean
