  1. Thought that I should post up that Hydro is truly a great guy. I met he and his GF at the local dog park, and we got talking fishing. I have been away from fishing for a couple of years, and not even knowing me, Hydro offered to take my boy and I for a float on the Bow!! What a blast! Long story short, the fish were there, but being novices, we didn't slay them like we could have. Between the boy and I, I'm sure we missed 100 hits. I did land one nice rainbow, and the boy lost a decent fish, and the whole time, Hydro was about the best guide a guy could have. That trip got the bug going again, and I've been out a couple times since, and the boy and I are going again tomorrow. Almost had forgotten how much I love to fish... Just thought that a public Kudos was in order. Thanks again!!!
  2. I just moved here at the start of August from Duncan, and I grew up fishing the Cowichan. Never did target the salmon, but this time of year, you can get into some decent browns in the upper sections. I prefer to use big hairy dry flies in the shallow edges of the deeper pools, right at dusk. Judging from the massive browns you guys land on the Bow and such, the average size of them may seem a bit on the small side, but the odd lunker is around. Lots of small resident rainbows as well, 6-12 inches, with the odd 18. Great river, great scenery, but if you go during the day, you'll be overrun by people tubing (and littering). Good luck. Trouter PS. Great board you guys have here!
