  1. Whatever. Having taken the time to wiki it, I see that the population was about 2.5 million in 1990. It's a little under 3.5 million now. That's still an increase of about a million (I know that's not precise, but can we go with it?) in less than 20 years. Still results in increased pressure on recreational areas and activities that cannot or has not been addressed in a timely fashion.
  2. There was around one million people in Alberta in 1991. There are about three million now. That's a three fold increase and a lot of them are fisherman too, in less than two decades. Every one of them is looking for the "quiet" away from other anglers. But that is not the reality. So sorry about your Frenchman's creek. Some jackass rode an atv up and down it for a month. Why? Because you kept you "hidden creek" secret. Not protected by the authorities. Seriously man. We have satellite imaging, GPS, and Twitter now. That means your quiet creek in the back country can be over run in an instant. It's no longer a "loose lips" issue.
  3. Smitty - I'm not making a moral judgment at all. The bottom line is that I find criticizing others for how they handle fish to be objectionable, when, as you note, nobody is perfect. That's all. And as a couple of posters have noted that the tone of my arguments is contrary to depicting the sport in a positive light, I have moved further discussions to PM's.

  8. Sure as heck isn't happy or healthy either. Yeah? Well re-read the post. He's the one that put the "a" word out there, and attributed it to himself. If he ain't happy with it, he can say so. And if I think it's justified, I'll apologize. But the tone of your post is a little threatening. "Deal with the consequences", indeed. You better be ten feet tall, bulletproof, and able to flip a building over to make a statement like that. I'm not quite so much myself, but I would bet I can settle your hash in a hurry. Want to find out?
