Here's my best recipe for duck Breast:
Pan fry skin down in real butter with salt pepper on medium heat for a very short time less than a minute per side, then remove let set for five minutes, then thinly slice the breast and enjoy.
The problem most have is over cooking wild game never overcook it, should always be med rare.

The Birds do put on a small, quant, Fly Fishing Show but I think its because we don't have the same scale/interest as our friends down south in Denver put on.
A new venue might be in order, just suggesting that maybe its time to have the IF4 at the same location during the show?

i have a really good bunch of Meiser's that i'll demo and go out with you to test drive , only you'll just have to wait a couple weeks as i'm out the door in the morning for steelhead country
Be right behind you, coming up to skeena on sunday the 14th for the week, too bad i missed the opportunity to test a BM on the river next week but another time.

Does anyone still demo spey rods in the calgary area?
-
Does anyone have drift boat plans that they would be willing to share? Or tell me about your building experience?ETC...

I've been down there a couple times. Back up into the sticks. Where abouts are you headed?
I didn't do a tonne of fishing, caught a few smallies on poppers, but there are some trout streams...
Going to Cambellville, kinda central in the state. I hear the cumberland is the river to fish for rainbow and browns. But there's stripped bass all over.

Anyone done any fly-fishing in the blue grass state?

best place i know of and they do all my mounts , plus those who i guide who want to get a copy of the trophy they catch , i send them to Advance taxidermy in ONT , they do the mounts for bass pro shops and Cabela's , give me a shout and i can get you another 10% off discount from them
do a search on the net and it will come up , i have not seen any better , you've seen my big brown and it was done by Advance ,
Try Hawkins taxidermist in Winnipeg, hands down the best in the county for fish mounts.

not sure why the price difference, but i've done both the guided drift and the guided jet boat thing. both are cool, just depeneds on what experience you want to have
Lunch yes, and you provide your own flys..

Try Bow River Shuttles's website bowrivershuttles.com. Not sure if they list their rental rates but there info.
Very expensive if you ask me. It's probably a better idea to get a guide because at least you don't have to row then. Try dutchie he's got great rates and a very knowledgeable guide.

I've signed the petition and recently viewed some of Alex's videos. Pretty scary stuff with the sea lice. I've committed to not eating farmed atlantic salmon due to those videos combined with the SeaChoice reference card.
Thanks for raising the issue!
Very important to us all and i too have written my MP about the subject. Get on board and make a change

Was just wondering if anyone here uses Orvis 5Wt rods and what they like or dislike about them? I am in the market for a new rod and might pick up a Trident or even a Hydros. any opinions would be great. Also same goes for a reel to match.. Possibly Battenkill Large Arbor or something similiar.
Thanks in advance.
Are you serious, the Hydros hands down, match it with the LA Battenkill.

What do u think is the best 5wt reel under 300.00?

Awesome thanks for sharing, got to tie these.

Did this come from the Drake? My God I hope not - haven't got the newest issue yet but if it is something REALLY changed in the last three months or so...
I don't think that you will get an objective opinion here because this forum is sponsered by Flyfusion. Although it is a good magazine, but lacks in geographic coverage and many other areas.
For myself and many others on here Canadain fly fisher is a much better publication with articles writen from writers and photographers from all over this find country and many others with a very wide variety of different species and locals to try with concise instruction on everything from fly tying to casting from the best instructors in the country.
But my favorite is still the drake for the short concise articles and amazing photography, after all it has won many awards and has a world wide following.
But be objective and read or preview has many has posible and form your own decisions, we all have different taste.
