[A Fish Tale... The One With Pics]

One big jack... not on a fly rod but friggin huge none the less... i will try and just get the pics

 

Turtle Lake is 12 km.east of us at Brightsand Lake !!!

 

For those of you who don't know where Turtle Lake is, it's in

Northern Saskatchewan..... probably the biggest nearby centre would be North Battleford , it's a beautiful resort and lake.

 

You will never, ever - see me

swim in Turtle Lake again!

 

WOW!!

 

This is NOT a fish story !

This is a new record Northern Pike in Canada .. He caught it on Turtle Lake .

Check this thing out.. The man (in the photos below), was fishing and caught a 36" Pike.

As he was reeling it in, a 56" - 55 lb Pike tried to eat it !!!!!

 

He landed them both in the same net.

It is nice to see some enforcement going on. I fished about 40 days out there this year and did not see one enforcement office but a whole lot of people using barbed treble hooks and them killing fish on the livingstone because of it, it is quite sad.

 

I will be making a donation this year for more officers, it is needed with the mass amount of people fishing out there now.

There are some good creeks in the area if you have a Backroads Mapbook.. not super familiar with the area though so make sure to check the regs to make sure they're open.

Most of the rivers are still open till oct 15 or oct 31... Lodgepole is totally closed and only a small section of the Wigwam is open due to bull trout spawning.

 

I was in fernie on the weekend and the river fishing was great some of the best days i have had.

 

I would phone some one like this to get the scope on the lakes
