It happened three times to me in one day this year. Although the first two were under 15" but the third was pushing 26". All on a Chernobyl. Needless to say on a 3wt, it was tough to land. Thought for sure my Sage One was gonna break once it made for current.....

Whatever the case I would suggest if you're using neo socks and wader boots, get gravel guards. I was using MEC neo booties up until last year before switching to Simms socks with built in gravel guards. With the MEC pair I was having to on a regular basis remove my boots to dislodge pebbles and such. Not a problem now with the gravel guards.

Almost a year ago, I got video evidence of OHV (or more like Jeep off roading in the river)abuse on the Highwood. First thing I did was call RAP. It's was the only number that came to mind right off the bat.
Like I said almost a year ago and I haven't heard back from the C.O about a guilty plea or trail date..... How am I to know if I made a difference???? I wonder if there's a reward now with a conviction or a plea of OHV misuse???

Found a set of Ray-Bans this morning in front of the cottage upstream of Burnco. PM a description to verify ownership.

Carry your cell phones with you at all times! Even in the backcountry with no signal. A video goes a long way in a investigation and will get results faster!!

Probably their first offence of this nature so most likely left to the judge's discretion. A slap on the wrist when a swift kick to the nuts is in order!"could be"!!
So in other words, not a $3000 fine, more like $200 - $500 fine.

So to update all. Talked to the CO tonight. These people will be looking at a mandatory court appearance before a judge. Just off the top of the officer's head, they could be looking at a $3000 dollar fine (minimum) and that's if there's no damage to the river bed and etc.... So yeah, hitting someone in their pocketbook is the best lesson.....It's all about education, and the best educator is a big fine.

I think more signage and blockades around certain open areas adjacent to rivers is a start but not a sure fix.
I always like the classic excuse of " I didn't know" but that doesn't pass with me.
I wonder why people think it's OK to take motor vehicles down a flowing river and think it's legal??? Rational thinking would lead you to a simple google search of the laws but sadly here we are..... However, am glad to have been there to catch this infraction in progress and document it for Fish&Game.

Let's dust this off and I for one will throw my playoff allegiance behind the canukleheds. Sweedish twins ooooh.
There ability to come back from deficits is going to help them alot unless Roberto can once again find his REAL "A" game. For once there is potent scoring team in front of him and yet this is his worst year as a Canknuckle. Go figure... They also don't have the fastest of skaters on the blue line but they do play soundly. In tough against LA.............. It will be a close series, I figure a game seven for sure.
On another note Go Habs! We are screwed but I love being the underdog!

We should have been in the race for last...............at least we get a good draft pick.
Me thinks that Sutter traded away your first and second round picks........ Sutter is so awesome!!

pokey's tackle shop, great northern rod and reel and cms are the main tackle shops in regina. pokeys has the most fly selection in town. however not that big of selection. Northern rod and reel would have what you need for fly tying materials but minimal fly selection.
just outside of regina there is a privatly owned trout pond called silver springs. 10 bucks a head for catch and release. for a good lake i would say diefenbaker anything else you'll have to hit up narrow hills provincial park about an 5 hrs drive north.. hope this helps.

Gonna be in Yorkton for several weeks in early May. Just wondering if anyone knows of some good lakes or rivers where i can catch some fish. Trout would be nice but I'll try for anything.
i might be wrong but the season doesn't open til may long weekend at least in the southern zone. check the regs. duck mountain is pretty good fishing

so with McGeough retiring at the end of this season, what will the flames fans have to use as an excuse next year?
Maybe Kerry Fraser.

Lost my Fishpond Nomad mid length net(riffle camo), downstream of the Glenmore launch(river left). Fell off the boat somehow. Crappy way to start the day.
Bring major karma/trout-a-bility to your season with the return of this net.
Reward will given as well.
Thanks.
