  1. I have sold BBQ for quite a few years. The webber BBQ four or five years ago was a great BBQ but since they are now made in China the qulaity has really gone down hill.

What you are looking for is at least a 3600BTU BBQ this will allow you to cook at about minus 5 celcuis You want the fresh air intake at the back of the BBQ to be high rather than at mid level. The best grills are stainless steel they cook more even and easier to clean and they will not rust.

Dont by a BBQ that has a side burner becasue they will not work the air blows up under the burner and change the flame from blue to yellow, yellow flame ahs no heat or it will blow it out.

lastly you want a pipe burner BBQ each burner is around 12 to13K BTU's stay aay from a H burner style

    anyway that my 2 cent's

  2. Ladies and Gentlemen

I don't boat these days msyself, but I was on the Upper Bow one day between Canmore and Banff and a jet boat went by with three people in it. I had my cell phone and called the Canmore RCMP, since I was closest to Canmore and outside the Banff Park Boundary. It was agreed that there shouldn't be a jet boat on the river. They followed up a few days later, but I was out when they called me at home, and the Mounties spoke with my wife and said that these guys are nearly impossible to catch, as they "put in" and "take out" in an organized way that makes their trip pretty quick. In this instance, the boat was un-named and there were no registration marks either. A photo wasn't possible because I wasn't fast enough. By the way, it wasn't a Conservation boat, I've seen them before and they're easily recognized - this was definitely some outlaw action.

So, I started digging around and I can't find any regulations published anywhere on the internet which specify what the boating regulations are for the Bow River. I did some on-line inquiry and didn't get any fruitful leads.

So my question to my fellow fishers is: Can anyone direct me to where the regulations are please?

    Thanks :fishfish:

are they not under Transport Canada Boating regulations

  3. I fished there Thursday of last week. A great day as far as weather is concerned -- sunny & no wind. Caught most of our fish on chironomids -- black & silver, size 14. We were fishing fairly deep -- 8' to 10'. Most fish were in the 12" to 16" range, but we did land one at around 18" and got snapped off by a few that we didn't get to see. The fish are looking really healthy and fat.

The road from Hwy 5 is in good shape.

On the enforcement side, or lack thereof, there were a lot of mini-marshmallows on the water around the island. Obviously some folks haven't read the bit about no bait allowed.

when I was there I saw several fishing from the island using the green marsmellows and keeping the fish that they caught which were not over 50 cm, i told them they couldnt do either and I was told to go forth and mulitply it much sharper words. The game warden did come through the campsite each night around 7:00 pm I tried to flag him down but to no avail

  4. I fished there all last week, i caugt 196 fish in 3 1/2 days fishing 12 over 20 50% 12/ 16 " the rest all small, no one else seemnd to be catching very many, i must have had the right fly.

I took the road to Police heading down towards Carway rather than the dirt road, this road is paved all though lots of pot holes
