Great tie on the pike fly!!! For flies that I tie for pike I use a # 2 hook mustad 34007. What size of hook and make did you use for this fly? Thanks. Tight lines........

I have been using mustad hooks all the time. I have no complaint about them for how long that I have been using them but this year I've had a few of them bent back realized that the fish wasn't holding on. Oh well. In that case I will checking more often to see if the hook is ok. Also I was wondering if that pack of hooks wasn't made properly to begin with. I will start a new bunch of flies with a new set of mustad hooks and see if this continues and if it does I will be looking for a better brand of hooks in the future. Tight lines....

I just like to use one fly a dry fly. Fishing on top to me is very exciting to see the take. Tight lines.....

I've had a c-clamp vice since the start of my tying. Which has been 15 years. If I can't find a table to fit, I just use the table in the tent trailer. That solves most problems on the road. I think its a solid fit. I haven't used a padestal base so I do not know all the facts but I'm sure it works as well. Tight lines.....

In Grade 8 we had an option to take fly tying. That was fun, what I remember. About 15 years later, I started to make flies all the time. 15 years of tying. It's a great hobby. Tight lines....
