Is that one strip of black between the green/red? Great proportions.

 

 

Yeah a single filament of black, if my eyes didn't fall me, diff. need more light over my vise. Married in a piece of about 5 or 6 filaments and then removed what I didn't want..................................way too fustrating handing such a small portion of feather.

i hate to be a grinch to all that have entered, but for those who haven't done so, i need recipes posted as well so those who haven't posted recipes, if you could just edit your submission post to include them, it would be much appreciated...thanks...:)

Tail - Marabou quill

Body - chenille, tinsel chenille

Wing - llama

Hackle

 

 

I would hang that on my tree.

Finally got one in! I took the liberty of considering gold as a Christmas color

Recipe

 

Hook- Gold Daichi 2/0 bartlett

Thread- white

Tag- red and green micro wire

Floss- red

Ribs- gold tinsel 2 strands over 1 green floss

 

Butt-Peacock and ostrich herl

Tail- Golden pheasant dyed green

Tail veiling- Red floss

 

Body mid section-

green floss

Ribs- 3 gold tinsel

1 black tinsel

1 Strand red floss twisted in rope

 

Body- front section

Red floss

Ribs - black wire in XX'S

 

Underwing- White bucktail

Overwing- Red bucktail

Topwing – Black bucktail

 

Head- Black thread

 

edit in the hook size and brand might be wrong now that i think about it....... I will check and change later today

I'll name it, "All that Glitters"

Tied on an Alec Jackson Gold Spey Hook size 1.5

Tag: Extra fine oval silver tinsel, Red silk

Butt: white ostrich

Tail: Dyed Red Golden Pheasant crest

Body: Highlander Green Silk

Ribs: Gold embossed tinsel and extra fine oval silver tinsel

Throat: Green hackle, silver pheasant

Wing: Highlander Green Lady Amherst veiled with Natural Lady Amherst

Cheeks: Jungle Cock

Topping: Dyed red Golden Pheasant

Head: Hareline rabbit dubbing, dyed red
