Quincy1 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I am looking at getting a sinking line for fishing on the bow for streamers, i am using a 4wt 9'sage launch and sage 1650 reel. I would like a recomendation between RIO Streamer Tip Float/Int 4wt WF4F/I 15ft clear line and yellow 1.5-2 ips, or the RIO DC WF4F/S3 4WT 15FT SINK TIP yellow/brown 3-4ips. Any recomendations or suggestions would be great. Thank you Quote
Simpson Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 In my opinion a 4wt is too light a rod for purpose. Any decent sized streamer will be challenging to cast. Do you have a 5wt or 6wt rod? If not I highly recommend going this route. There are a number starter rods these weights for sale on the forum. Then you could use your 4wt for dries and a 5wt,6wt for streamers and nymphing. regarding the line quicker to the bottom the better! Tightlines James Quote
