Remps Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 I have an oppertunity to pick up a Native run GLX for a good price. I have never used one and I am wondering what everyone thinks of them. Not sure where you are or what you intend to use it for, but for stillwater, large streams and rivers like the Bow I prefer the GLX Streamdance series. The 'Experience' model would be my choice in a 6wt. The Native Run is more of a steelhead and salmon stick - a bit much for most trout fishing IMO. lorney Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 I have an 8wt Native Run GLX I use for pike and it is great for tossing big flies and bringing in large pike. Mine is a 10' rod. rhuseby Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 While I don't own a Native Run, I did try it in comparison to the Crosscurrent when I was shopping for a saltwater rod. If yu don't plan on doing a lot of casting over about 60 feet it is a sweet casting rod that is very smooth and accurate. vancouver Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Loomis makes a fine rod.. You won't go wrong with it.. It will do anything you ask.
