jnovlan Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I need to repair my OKUMA SLV 56 reel. The very tiny 'CLICK PAWL ASSY.' is broken (Part #33040025)--- affecting the drag. I checked the OKUMA website for reel repair. It lists Mike's Reel Repair in Abbottsford, BC as a warranty repair shop. Four phone calls and messages have gone unanswered at this time. Does anyone know of a Calgary based company or individual who may be able to either repair the reel or provide me with parts. Any help would be appreciated. I have had a couple of leads but all ended in dead ends at this point. Thanks in advance. Quote
Flytyer Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 There was a fellow named Roggie that used to but can't say if he still does, maybe someone else may know. Got his card somewhere but will have to look. Quote

jnovlan Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Try Ritchie's rod and reel 403 945 2805 out of Airdrie Ritchiesmobile@shaw.ca I tried Ritchie's a few days ago. He does not repair or carry parts for the OKUMA. I believe that he mentioned that he had purchased Roggies supplies when Roggie retired. Those were part of my dead ends. Thanks anyway to both Flytyer and mnm. Quote

Avalanche Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Is it worth repairing? I know money doesn't grow on trees but I believe I paid about $75 when I bought that reel for my wife a year ago. Might just be simpler and easier and perhaps not much more expensive to buy another? Spare spools are something like $35 or $40 and you would have yourself a spare spool so all would not be lost with the old reel. Just my 2 cents... Quote

I have already requested parts from the Reel Doctor in Edmonton. I'll try that route first and maybe go your suggested route if that doesn't work out. Thanks. Quote
