  1. We're happy to share some exciting news from Fish Tales. FREE Seminar this Sunday March 15, 2015, 1:00 PM: All about Browns with Dave and Amelia Jensen We are excited to have Dave and Amelia Jensen join us for this session focused on brown trout fishing. During the session they may touch on some of the differences between Central Alberta and New Zealand trout fishing, cover how-to information on sight fishing, matching the hatch, fishing pocket water, and more. If the information they’ll be sharing is anything like their recent DVD “Stripped Down the Brown Trout Project” this is a must-attend session. Amelia and Dave Jensen are the publishers of Alberta Fishing Guide magazine and social media sites. Before taking over the Alberta Fishing Guide in 2014, they guided and outfitted on the Red Deer river and owned/operated Fortress Lake Retreat. They are passionate anglers and conservationists who spend time on waters throughout Alberta and (for a few weeks each year) in New Zealand. For more information about our seminars, visit our seminars page here: http://www.fishtalesflyshop.com/category/learn-how-to-fly-fish/fly-fishing-seminars/ NEW online store: http://www.flyshop.ca/ We're proud to announce the launch of our new online e-commerce site! This space will not be showcasing all that we have to offer. Instead we'll be focusing on product that has been discontinued and we want to make available to an internet audience. You'll see a wide arrray of product there now, and new product uploaded every week. For those of you who are local, you can even choose an "in-store" pickup option to save on shipping! For those of you who haven't visited our physical location in Calgary - please keep in mind this is a small sampling of what we have to offer. We have the broadest fly tying selection in western Canada, a great book and DVD selection, rods and reels from top manufacturer's, gear bags, vises, and much, much more. And although all those products aren't on this site you can give us a shout if you're on the hunt for new gear or an elusive tying product.
