  1. @Komp - Vision is a Finnish brand. I have been their customer for a few decades. Their design, product quality & price ratio has been good. I do not own an XLV, but I have been using their other reels. Except the cheapest (Deep), I would buy again. I rarely need to fight a fish long on the reel, though. Here on this side of the pond, they come straight to the net. (or not :)) So, my experience, you get what you pay for. YMMV.

    Wow, nice spotties! TFS.
  3. You got a head start! Here the ice just gone and now flooding. Right in the Nose! Good photo! Also, great colors on that rainbow fooled by SJW. That chicken (or is it a turkey) is golden! Mom, stand the chicken on an open (and full:)) beer can and bakes it in oven. Those are too yummy.
  4. I have been tying some caddis nymphs/pupae:
  5. That was the first photo of the net retriever I have found. Indeed, I carry my net this way. Much easier to reach. You can make a net retriever from old telephone cable if they do not have them.
  6. Magnetic netholders are pretty strong. Only if it catches in bushes or branches, will it release the net. However, you should have a net retriever (or just a simple cord) attached to the hook on the end of the handle (and to your fanny packs belt or wader's belt) or like here (but to the fanny pack).
  7. My favorite is the Mr Cutt photo. The crystal clear water and light "stripes" make it special.
  8. My recent tie of a fry imitation:
  9. Wow, great pics BobLoblaw! I really dig these two:
  10. My "Fly-fishing through the glass" photobook is now displayed and sold here: http://www.blurb.com/books/4044450-fly-fishing-through-the-glass Take a look at the preview and order a print if you like it.
  11. Cool photos! I like that after (or before) storm dark river photo (freestone) and the cast (jksnijders) I too like to take photos of the rivers, habitat, and fish food.
  12. Good photos and nice places you visited, Xplorer! That is a pretty good camera considering the size and price. I miss summer, as well. Oh well, only 4 months to go.
  13. Nice to see some green photos at this time of the year, Pepper. Thanks for sharing.
  14. At first browse, I managed to overload my visual sensors and needed to take a brake. When, I returned and took my time to go through the photos, I truly enjoyed the show. Beside the fish close-ups, my favorites are the mountain landscape shots (and that hilly road disappearing in the horizon). Thanks for sharing!
  15. Pretty much still a problem! The best view can be achieved putting one's head into the water so one can look at the LCD perpendicularly. Not that easy when one fishes alone. I wish they start to produce also UW cameras with flip-out LCDs.
