  1. I think you need to decide on what rod to buy depending on size of fish and then flies. On the bow i usually fish a streamer from 2-5 inches. On the bow i fish an 11'6 6/7 wt... i think this is a good weight to toss nymph rigs and streamers on the bow. Check out some of the switch rods on the market, I think they are the perfect tool for the bow.

  2. Now is a great time to learn how to nymph! Fish will be starting to move into slower water for the winter which will make watching your indicator easier, mending your line easier, and feeling the strikes. Fish when ya wanna fish dude, there is always open water open water to be found on the bow! And if ya can (try) fish when its -15 its makes the summer fishing even better!

  3. I've been curious about this. In making these types of flies without the shanks what is the best way to attach the dropper hook? I was thinking to put the dropper hook on some heavy mono and then to lash it with tying thread to the shank of the cut off streamer hook, maybe use some super glue for good measure.

You got it man, i like to use tyger wire and tie it down with flat waxed nylon thread. I also use a little extra wire so i can fold it over itself and and tie it down for extra strength. Check out headscans fly tying post for a pic!

  4. twas a really dope day!

The weather was insane, seemed like we'd get something new every fifteen minutes! Frozen for most of the day, got get the winter skin back after sitting around for two months.

    Thanks again Max.

  5. They may have been chowin right under the surface on emergers... You have to decide what type of rise it is. If its a big splashy rise and you see the snout first or the whole fish come out of the water, chances are they are feeding on the top. If you see only dorsal fin or a dorsal and a tail then they might be eating right under the surface. If you can't get them on a certain pattern you think they are feeding on, switch it up or try something smaller.

  6. ... and I drive a Toyota Highlander, AND MY HAIR IS DOWN TO MIDDLE OF MY BACK ..

Brining out your old clothes from the clothes from the closet? Brading your pony tail and growing your bread? Bought a sick new ride.... sounds like a mid life crisis to me haha!

Mark, Cast is off, foot is hooped, and yes there was a dead ant inside the cast.
