Disturbing as it appears that this invasive species is thriving in Frank, maybe it can be looked at as an opportunity to implement a "treatment" program to remove them.

Good to hear, thanks

Hoping to make the drive and take in a float on Friday. With all the rain lately, is the hill at McKinnon in good shape?
-
Thanks for the reports guys. Guess I will have to re-think the float this weekend.

Hi guys, I see the dam opened up to 200 M/sec, hoping to do a float either tomorrow or Saturday and wanted to know if anyone can comment on the visibility.

Anyone know for sure when they lock the gates at the boat launches for the year. The forecast for the weekend looks pretty good and a float might be in order. -
Saw this on another forum. Might be helpful to some.

Hi all, I am coming in from out of town and hope do a float this weekend. Wondering if anyone can comment on the river flow from McKinnon to Carseland.
I know that the Alberta river basin flow figure shows the river is within the yearly average for flow rate , just not looking to do any heavy rowing near the end of the float.
Thanks

Very nice photos. Looking at these makes me want to get out there one more time before the white stuff stays for good. Thanks for sharing.

Count me in please.

My guy is a black lab / shepherd cross, heavy on the lab. I fish a lot on my own, so for an ever ready fishin' buddy and my wife's peace of mind , she surprised me with him. Don't know what I would do without him now.

This is long overdue. Unfortunately, the "irresponsible few" negatively impact the enviroment and the majority of people who enjoy the outdoors. The need to be held accountable and deterred.

I remember seeing the link to Don Anderson's "CFF" fly pattern here and I can't find it now. Please help me.
Thanks
Al
Here's a link to Don's site.

Now comes the Bullet!
:derby racer:
Most of these are C&R waters.
I know we all take the utmost care in reviving and releasing and that they all swim away.
Studies show on average we KILL between 3 to 5%, are we then any better than someone taking 3 to 5 fish out of that same water?
Shouldn't we be more responsible and limit the amount we try to catch?
Methinks someone may be trolling for 100 plus forum responses.

Thanks for the reply, looking forward to getting the 'toon wet.

I'm hoping to get to the Bow this coming weekend weather permitting, is it still floatable right now, say Policeman's to McKinnons?

I use a clothespin bag I bought at the dollar store. It's made out of cloth and has a teflon coated plastic ring sewn in to hold the bag open. I simply place it under the vise with the bag positioned to collect all the clippings.

What's everyone's favorite hopper pattern for the Bow this time of year? I found using a foam body on choppy water works well for me, but is not as effective as a parachute imitation for slower presentations along the rivers edge where they have a better look at the fly.
