Those are looking very good!!! :clapping: I am thinking of getting my adult son some kind of a starter kit or similar for Christmas. As a novice tier, do you have any suggestions?? Hope to hear from some pros as well. Don't really want to steal your thread so will ask the pros.

My tying stuff was actually an early Christmas present too. I went to the fly shop and got a solid vice (Dyna-king kingfisher) along with some basic tools and just the materials I needed to tie the flies I wanted to start with. I am really happy I went this way as opposed to a cheap kit that has a bunch of stuff I may not use.

JerryN, just like he said, a starter kit is full of some crap you may never use. Solid Vise, Solid tools, and just look up the flies for the rivers that he might fish and get fly specific materials, alot of the materials cross over from fly to fly. im sure your end up happier this way
