  1. Two Dads and adult sons want to get into some Walleye and Pike for a 4-5 day trip. Will need lodging and boats. Want to get in some fly action . Looking for the 2nd week in September. Will consider up to 8 hour drive. Were, and still are considering Lesser Slave Lake or Winefred (might be too far). Sure would appreciate any ideas from those of you who have enjoyed such a trip. Would love a fly-in but pretty sure it is out of our budget range. Thanks for all replies.
  2. Please join the Fish Tales crew for two free upcoming events! SUNDAY APRIL 13, 1:00 PM: join Kurtis for a discussion on pike fishing that will help improve your odds when out stalking the waterwolf. He’ll discuss how to find pike; what flies work best, when and why; pike set ups; seasons for pike and more. He’ll also be tying a couple of his favorite pike patterns. This is part of our free Sunday seminar series that runs most Sundays from late October through December and mid-January through April. Seminars are open to anyone who wants to attend. Start time is 1 p.m. Sessions generally last one to two hours. First ones in get the chairs! WEDNESDAY APRIL 16, 7:00 PM: Join Fish Tales staff members as we turn off the open sign and break out the vises. Once a month through the winter we will gather together to share stories, re-stock the fly boxes and learn tips and tactics from one another. This event is free, open to the public and goes from about 7-9. This Wednesday marks the last installment for spring of 2014, so be sure to drop by for lots of laughs! NEW VIDEO: Since March 2012, Fish Tales has been posting "Fish Face Friday" as a way to celebrate the start of the weekend. The crew has put together a new video montage of the first year of photos that will be sure to get you excited for fishing as our weather improves! Check out the new video here: http://www.fishtalesflyshop.com/2014/04/08/fish-face-friday-year-one-compilation-march-2012-march-2013/
  3. Hey Guys, I'm going to be picking up a 9wt TFO Mangrove Rod coming up here. I want to use it for Pike as soon as the ice comes off, and because its a salt rod I can use it when I go down to mexico. So I'm looking for a salt 9wt reel to go with it. What Reel would you suggest and why? Thanks
