Last year I broke the same section on my crosswater and a couple months ago i emailed redington if it would be covered under warranty. I made a warranty request and emailed them if i could skip mailing the rod and just pay for the replacement piece. They asked for a picture of the damage and ended up waving the fee and mailed me a new crosswater combo kit free. I would send them an email and see what they can do for you.

Yea the recon looks to be a very nice rod I will have to check out. Was also talking to a guy today that said fenwick rods have some pretty good bang for your buck, does anyone have any experience with this brand?

So I finally broke my first fly rod after 2 years of pretty heavy fishing and finally can justify buying a new replacement! I was wondering if you guys could help me out and recommend any mid priced 5wt rods ($150-$400) that perform well? I am thinking more towards a moderate to moderate fast action rod for some versatility but any input would be appreciated 😌
