  1. Alberta Enivornment and Parks is looking for angler feedback on proposed angling closures for certain rivers, found here: https://talkaep.alberta.ca/north-central-native-trout-recovery I would strongly recommend that everyone read this before completing the survey: http://flyfishalberta.com/jensenflyfishing/an-open-letter-re-north-central-native-trout-survey/
  2. Yes, it's a cutty. Nothing I could see. But to me it looked a lot more than just a cut and a scar. It was more of a growth, almost tumor-like. I'm no expert though so maybe it is just a healing wound.
  3. I've seen this on a few fish and it always seems to be around the mouth and gills. What exactly is it?
  4. Even if they didn't limit rod days it would still cost $115 in licenses to fish there for a long weekend (3 days). Meanwhile they can come here and fish for $28 for the entire year...
  5. I too have had Windows 10 since it was released and have not had any issues with it at all. I felt they were going the wrong direction with Windows 8 but I really like what they did with Windows 10. Would recommend.
  6. Yep it's sounding like this is shaping up to be the year for big fish
  7. "As many of you have heard, in the fall of 2015, we stocked tiger trout into a small number of ponds in Alberta to evaluate their success in creating more diverse fishing opportunities for stocked trout. At this time, we ask that all tiger trout be released so that this experimental stocking program can be properly evaluated." "In order to evaluate their effectiveness in providing more diversity of fishing opportunities at stocked trout lakes, tiger trout were stocked into three lakes in October 2015. The waters stocked are: Black Nugget Mine Pit (11-49-18-W4), East Twin Lake (29-97-22-W5) and Lower Chain Lake (7-69-23-W4). Tiger trout have yet to be defined as a game fish in Alberta, by federal regulation. Fisheries Management asks that all tiger trout caught be voluntarily released. The required regulation change is expected to be completed and enacted during the 2016-17 fishing season. Anglers are advised to check the Environment and Parks and MyWildAlberta websites for updates."
  8. Some great pictures there. Iceland looks cool
  9. I was out the other day with some friends when one of my buddies hooked into a whitefish. He noticed something chasing the whitefish, so I grabbed my GoPro and was able to capture this footage of a bull trout attacking the whitefish. I've heard of this sort of thing happening but have never seen it before. Not a monster bull trout by any means but still very cool to witness. Once we realized what was happening, we threw on a streamer to try and catch this thing. Check it out!
  10. When I started fishing I almost always set the hook too early and was just pulling the flies right of the mouth. Deep hook sets happen, but forceps in up to the handle is too deep to be digging around for hooks in my opinion - just cut the line. Pinch those barbs too!
  11. Very nice. What do you use for a camera?
  12. Those are some nice looking fish. Great pics
