  1. I’d walk up there and break his rod in half. If he got pissy i’d give him one shot to the jaw and game over. There’s quite a few idiots out there that need correction.
  2. It happens when I use nymphs and more so when using drys that I lose the fish usually in the first 2-4 seconds. I do well with streamers. :/ Maybe add more drag on the reel? When I hook a fish I tend to hold the line and when the fish pulls and I try to pull the energy stored in the line dislodges the hook from the fishes mouth? When the fish takes maybe I should just let the fish take the line?
  3. In the last 10 days of fishing on the Bow I had many strikes but the fish shakes it's head side to side and the hook is out. I've been told to raise the fly rod and pull on the line hard as if you were to pull its head off. I seem to only land fish that take the hook and swim away from me.
  4. I went out a couple of days ago and got eaten alive and it wasn't much fun. Hands get it the worst. I've heard deet damages fly lines so not sure what else is there to use?
  5. Anybody knows anything about the Greys reels? I am looking for a new large arbor reel that has interchangeable spools. The Greys GX700 costs $150 and each spool is $20. http://fly.greysfishing.com/en-us/products...els/gx700-reel/ I have 5 weight set up mainly for trout.
  6. I wish I was fishing on the 16th but as I am new to the the province I don't really know any good place yet and would rather carpool.
  7. I am working in Airdrie and brought my fly fishing stuff with me. Is there any creeks in or outside Airdrie? I'd rather fish creeks and rivers but if there is any lake near by that would be good enough to practice my casting. I am willing to travel at least 30-45 minutes. I was supossed to fish the bow today but the rain kept me in.
  8. I was looking at a net at the Bass Pro Shop and they have this net called "The measure net". It says on it has soft mesh and is fish friendly. I don't care much about that is has a measuring tape on it but because it has an extendable or telescopic handle good for when you are in a v-boat and or in a river and can get the fish in faster because of the longer reach therefore less added stress on the fish. Anybody uses this net?
  9. hi guys, I recently moved to Edmonton from Vancouver, BC with my 2 kids and wife. Now that I am here to stay where to fish when everything is frozen?lol Is there an indoor fly casting rink? Anything close to Edmonton that is not frozen? I know you can fish the bow river all year round. That is the only river I know of and been there before. I like to fish creeks and rivers and practice C&R.
