  1. You won’t have to look over your shoulder for them anymore Matt...
  2. Wow... I can't wait til there are houses built all the way down across from the cottonwood... it's a bank angler dream come true...
  3. I have tried both and prefer the pyramid...
  4. Honestly burningchrome, i have no idea what you did there?? 5 bucks Bigbowtrout?... that was the only hero-shot you took of that fish before you pulled the fly out of its mouth...in the water, im suspecting. Jayhad... PM me we can float this week.
  5. I do take the special fish picture and I agree there is no way to enforce it... We talk about fish mortality and use statistics... lets say 5 - 10% mortality rate for catching a fish. Say a person on social media has 100 hero-shots taken in a season, we could say they have statistically killed 10 fish. Say 1 person fished once in a season and kept 10 fish... OMG... now I think of all the fish that I have probably killed... I will never fish again! Sorry guys I need to go set up InstaSnapTwitter face accounts and shame these people. Like the attractive girl Friday pin up girl on MoldyChum today with the big.... bullies...
  6. In "light" of recent board events I have been wondering...🤔 But first I must recap... Social media has successfully been used to shame people fishing illegally... ✔️ Social media has successfully been used to shame people from trying to provide a service for the fishing community... ✔️ So my question is... Would giving your InstaSnapTwitterFace information while signing up for ones fishing license, be a great way for the COs to be able to pull peoples fishing licenses for too many hero-shots? Discuss...
  7. I am not sure BigFry... Maybe try the; http://cantfishcalgary.com/board
  8. Seeing how we are on the topic of contractors.... Does anyone know a good contractor that would be able to finish a basement??
  9. Ignorance and arrogance is a bad combination!!!
  10. I floated on Saturday Fish Creek to Mac. Not a monster day of fishing, just stop and fish where ever I thought I could fool a trout with a man made bug. It gave me time to watch the numerous drift boats and the flotilla of kick boats. By the end of the day it occurred to me that none of these people knew they were doing any wrong. They were just never taught any different. (or everyone is just really polite and doesn't want to scare the fish by yelling to you as they pass by asking how your day is going) Maybe I am just fortunate that I had boat nazis to teach me the river etiquette. Nowadays anyone can buy a drift boat or kick boat and float down the river and have a great day, oblivious that they are making someone else's day miserable. (apparently having your drift boat on the seam, 10' off the bank while your clients are happily chucking bobbers on the "White" side of the boat is a Great!! way of catching fish...) It was quite apparent that day which boats had veteran oarsman and I do appreciate that. It is just sad that it has to be this way. As I was bouncing my way up the Mac flats hill I wondered if an apprenticeship program would help... But then thought that would never fly... People would have to take the time out of their busy boating schedules.
  11. Very good point MNM, I did not want to drag the jet boat story out but I have met "the alumiweld" as well. (another video option) That is another story... brought with frustration and peril. *Disclaimer* Opinion only... The Bow River has too dense a angler too area population for deep hull high horsepower Riverboats. I have fished out of and would have a powered drift boat. If i wasn't born handsome and was born rich... The Bow River has become a jet boat river, as it once became a drift boat river. I am not a lifelong resident of the Bow but I have seen a significant increase in Bangler and boat traffic in the last 5 years. As annoying as it is to every facet (bangler, drifter and powered drifter) of the sport of fly angling on the Bow that we love... It is the truth!!! We either adapt... as we do or we post digrunteled posts forever on forums that solve nothing....
  12. I know I am a cynical poster on here but when it comes to jet boats and drift boats alike I have to agree... It is the people operating the boat that tend to be the problem. Case in point legend of "The Red Zodiac" from last summer. Now I am not certain if it is powered by a jet or a conventonal propellor but it is still powered. Imagine if you will... I was happily stalking snouts on one of my favorite Bangling banks looking for snouts when I hear the drone of "The Red Zodiac" from below me. As "The Red Zodiac" passed the usual waves and muddy bank puts the fish down and I wait for the allotted "4min 20 sec" for the bank to clear. I look up river and floating down is... "The Red Zodiac" and not on the other side of the river in the seam that I am fishing. Oh it was a happy day... "The Red Zodiac" passes and I resume looking for snouts... Long story short..."The Red Zodiac" did this not once but twice more. The last time "The Red Zodiac" passed I had had enough and started walking back to the parking lot, As I was rounded a corner I looked up and downstream from the boat launch there was "The Red Zodiac"... It seemed to be in distress as its deckhands were working tirelessly to drag it against the current. I am a little ashamed to admit it now but I did it... I giggled my ass off and laughed out loud, one of those belly laughs that make your whole week. As I passed the efforts put forth by "The Red Zodiac" deckhands I gathered that they had mechanical difficulties and not been able to make the launch and had quite a ways to go. Somewhere deep within me I found a new spring in my step. Isn't Karma wonderful... If anyone would like to make this into a fishing video I am certain we could collaborate on this project.
  13. I have a secret spot too... 50.821252,-113.781580 And I bet dollars to doughnuts, on April fools day 75% of you will be there. Correct me if I'm wrong... Maybe it's not a secret...
  14. No worries... Bananas in the boat is bad luck. My personal boycot list has been reduced huge, now that Oprah is no longer on the air.
  15. Quick question.... I have a vehicle and sometimes I give ride to people, I do not charge them for rides. Does that make me a taxi driver? Should I get a class 2 licence? Should I get a taxi light on my vehicle? Even if there was a guide association on the river, I would still take people fishing with my drift boat. I do not charge people to go. It is recreational not professional. I believe a river association is a great idea but something that would manage the river. Not police recreational anglers.
  16. Guys, My thought process is this... If you get a cat you may as well start kissing dudes as well...
  17. I wonder if I can get lead poisoning from my anchor....
  18. I am thinking Rod H from the UK needs to get out of bed earlier so that then he could be the first one to the sweet spots. 8 boats ahead of him is just to late in the day. Have always thought that it was first come first serve when ever I have pulled over to fish a "sweet spot". I always try to leave room behind me and be courteous others as much as possible. There have been times when I have come around a corner and found an angler in a run. I have always apologized and felt guilty as I'm floating away. I have also been cut off by other boats and still did well on the same bank they scooped me on. Basically I think Rod H from the UK had a shitty day and had to let his frustrations out in the only venue he had available. I hope this makes sense.
  19. I fished with camel. Not famous on a global scale only in his mind.
